Window Repair Surrey
In this window repair Surrey case study Mr. W was on the verge of selling his home but the windows were rather neglected and several sections were very rotten. He contacted us to see if we could help him fix this problem, as he was anticipating a struggle to sell the house in its current state. He knew there was a lot of rot and asked whether we could repair the windows and replace all the sills.
Mr W wanted to have all the windows renewed to their original state. When surveying the house we noticed that there was flaky paint work and the sashes had rotten sections. We had told Mr. W that we would be able to repair the sills if he preferred but he felt he would benefit by having them all replaced with new hardwood sills.
Solution:
The sash windows were firstly all extracted and taken off site to be worked on. He had 8 sash windows and we removed all the sills. Our carpenters had handcrafted some new hardwood sections. These were spliced in using our repair care system that helped to mould the old and new wood together. We then rubbed it all down so they were smooth for our hand painted finish that we applied on top. The sashes had minor rot and these sections were removed and filled with our repair care system. Everything was then hand painted and draught proofed.
Outcome:
Mr. W was very pleased with all the work done on his home. He had no more rot or flaky paint, all the windows were painted perfectly and all the sills had been replaced. We are pleased to report that Mr. W had no problem subsequently selling his home.
