Window Repair London – Clapham 2

In this window repair London case study , Mr L contacted us as he wanted his window repaired. We had one of our London based surveyors visit the customer’s property to determine the extent of the problem. The survey revealed extensive rot in the lower part of the window frame and sill. Mr L subsequently contracted Fortis & Hooke to repair the windows.

Solution:

The only logical solution for the amount of rot in the windows was to replace large sections of the lower part of the windows. We proceeded to replace the window sills and side frames with hardwood sections and ensured the new pieces were moulded into the existing timber with a flexible resin system. Following this we fully decorated the windows to ensure the timber was protected.

Outcome:

The result of the process was that Mr L could keep his original windows and didn’t have to replace them. Also, the newly decorated windows will possibly outlast any replacement window that could have been installed.
