Glass Replacement – City of London

Mrs. P contacted us as she lived in a very busy area of London and required special glass to reduce the noise levels in her home.

The main problem was that two of her original sash windows faced a very busy road in the City of London. These 2 windows were also located within bedrooms, which made the noise even more problematic.

Solution

Our London based team visited Mrs. P and removed the old glass from her windows. Pre-cut Acoustic glass was installed. The 12.8 mm glass was puttied in with the repair-care putty system. Due to the added weight of the glass the team also fully refurbished the weights in the windows. This ensured that the windows moved smoothly. In order to attain the maximum reduction in noise levels the team also draught proofed the windows. It is a well known fact that draught proofing aids in the reduction of noise.

Outcome

The result was that Mrs. P’s two windows were left noise resilient as possible. The windows moved well and had no noise penetration.
