Throughout its Stuart and Georgian history the main jobs around were of farming, watermen, malting and brewing. The landmark, Mortlake Brewery, has been running since the 15th Century but is sadly scheduled to be all removed by the end of 2015. The majority of housing in this area are flats and terraced houses.
