There are about 460 acres of open green land in Mitcham Common with a few ponds and several buildings around. In Mitcham there are many prominent buildings that include Mitcham Court, Poulters Park and Eagle House. Eagle House was built in 1705 and is built on land that previously was owned by Sir Walter Raleigh. The building was specially made for doctor Fernando Mendes, he was King Charles II’s doctor.
